Aside from the notable and iconic plastic fingerboard, the L-Century is recognized by its Maple back and sides, which give it a crisp, punchy sound.

Why We Love This

If you like your vintage guitars minty fresh, you can move right along; but if you've longed to own one of Gibson's fabled "Century of Progress" models without spending top dollar, please read on. We love this guitar for its vibe and tone. It's weathered the years well, surviving one significant crack and a top refinish, and still sounding plain lovely. Aside from the notable and iconic plastic fingerboard (that's "Mother of Toilet Seat" to those in the know), the L-Century is recognized by its Maple back and sides, which give it a crisp, punchy sound that takes to a flatpick particularly well. This guitar has a fantastic, dry voice, and would be well suited to old-time rhythm and flatpicking. In addition to the previously noted repairs & modifications, its neck has been reset (a good, clean job, resulting in easy playability). Priced with 1960's hard case.
