Alluring, rich-sounding cedar-topped Divina just in to the shop! A house favorite here, Germán Vazquez Rubio's guitars have captivated us for many years. His instruments are notable for their engaging voice, balancing warmth with power, quick response, and single-note clarity.
The precursor to Vazquez's Estudio, GVR's most affordable model, the Divina remains a remarkable value in a true, concert-level classical. This guitar features a cedar top over a striking Palo Escrito (rosewood) back and sides, an uncommonly beautiful wood pairing. With a thin lacquer finish that feels more like French polish, the Divina is a lightweight, dynamic guitar, quick in its response with a robust depth of tone. Dark wood binding and a multicolored rosette with matching purflings complete the very tasteful aesthetic.
We sold this guitar new a couple of years ago. I remember it fondly, as it has an impressive voice from the get go. It is a treat to have it back in the shop!
Note: the video is of a previously sold Estudio -- the same build, materials, and specs as this Divina.
