Modern showpiece of a classical with a potent voice and unique aesthetic appeal from this highly regarded Viriginia-based luthier.
Thomas Rodriguez is that rarest of talents operating at an exceptionally high level in two seemingly disparate guitar-building specialties: concert-grade classicals and solid-body electrics. We have carried Tommy's electrics for some time now, marveling at their acoustic resonance, choice tonewoods, creative design, and ability to engaging the player.
The first concert classical we have seen from Rodriguez, this guitar possesses all of these very same attributes. Serial number 200 features a showstopping bear-claw spruce top and a beautiful dark-chocolate-colored Brazilian back and sides. It boasts the power of a lattice-braced instrument with a balance and personality more befitting a fan-braced instrument. A soundport in the bass side, upper bout conveys back to the player a confident sense of low-mid power. Overall a very exciting, authoritative modern classical.
This guitar comes to us in very good overall condition.
