We are excited to offer this brand new two-point direct from Lawrence Smart! This mandolin features an asymmetrical two-point body design, tastefully adorned with an Art Deco headstock inlay and tapered fingerboard markers. Lawrence's varnish finish offers a wonderful, handmade look, complementing the sweeping lines of the body design and appointments.
As much as we love the look, we are even more enamored of the distinctive sound: exceedingly warm, with a very inviting midrange and a round, almost pillowy quality to single notes. We have heard a few Engelmann spruce-topped examples from Smart, and they all share some of that seductive sonic DNA, but this Two-Point Deco has it in spades. It has a timbral character unique among all other offerings in the shop. Nice, comfortably deep carve to the neck, with excellent playability.
