Description
Preston Thompson built some of the finest, best-loved guitars of the Americana and bluegrass scene from the 1970s up until his passing in 2019, and today his team continues his legacy out in Sisters, OR. The 0000 was one of Preston's first guitar designs, and is a wonderfully versatile model that packs some dreadnought power into a tighter-waisted, comfortably sized OM-style body. This particular guitar is outfitted with some exceptionally eye-catching quilted maple (in person the ripples look almost three-dimensional!), and a gorgeous sunburst on both the Sitka top as well as the back and sides. The tone is tight, focused, and fundamental, with a powerful bass and a satisfying clarity for flatpicking and strumming. The previous owner took excellent care, and there are no cosmetic or structural issues to note. Priced with a sparkling red Calton case.
