This 1968 D-18 was brought to us by the estate of its former owner, who performed regularly for decades around the Boston area. It may be obvious by looking at our photos, but this guitar has been played a lot. And with all those hours comes the robust, broken-in clarity of tone all acoustic guitar players seek. This D-18 has a good amount of low-end thump for a late-60's model, alongside the expected midrangey charm inherent in the model. We can see why an aspiring singer-songwriter loved it for so many years.
Condition: we'd rate this one in "good" shape for its age and miles traveled. An area of heavy playwear adjacent to the treble side of the pickguard has had some finish brushed on to it (perhaps by the previous owner himself, who we're told was also an artist). Our shop has repaired a small area of binding on the back near the treble side waist, and shored up several cracks in the back & sides. An old pickup was removed as well. This D-18 is priced with a period hardshell case.
