Built by lauded Gretsch master-luthier, Stephen Stern, this G6128CS feels quite a bit like a vintage Gretsch in all the best ways. Not only did Stephen nail the look with incredibly tasteful aging, he absolutely nailed the feel that old Gretsch guitars have. There's a certain feel to a Grestch - anyone who's played a great vintage one will probably get what we're trying to say...It's hard to describe, but they aren't super buttoned up, overly meticulous, or sterile. They're full of soul, character, killer tones, and are a little funky. Simply put, this guitar doesn't feel like a modern recreation to us - it has that vintage soul nailed.
Loving the Duncan DynaSonic style pickups. They have elements of a P90 to them, elements of a Rickenbacker "toaster" pickup....they're cool and different from a Fender or Gibson sound you may be used to. Given the range of players that are famous for slinging a Duo Jet - George Harrison, Billy Zoom, Gene Vincent, Neil Finn - you can play '50s-era clean or crank the Marshall and be equally pleased with the results.
In our guitar worldview, electric guitars don't get much cooler than a Gretsch. We're sold! Priced with hardshell case.
