Recent (2019) Froggy Bottom K model in sublime quilted mahogany sourced from "The Tree" a famed, mammoth mahogany tree felled decades ago. If there is a mahogany equivalent to the rarity of Brazilian rosewood, this is it.  Wrest your eyes from the exquisite, three-dimensional back and sides and you will be equally enthralled by the warm, pillowy tone that has long-defined the Froggy Botttom sound. The auditorium-sized K body in German spruce and super-resonant, old-growth mahogany make for a fundamental-rich, wide-open palette with ample dynamic range and great balance across all registers. Clean, very little sign of previous play.
