Fans of late 50s Epiphone Crestwoods will find a lot to love about this 2013 Echopark El Cabilo.
If we had to sum up Echopark guitars in a word? Vibe. Gabriel Currie's guitars evoke a "Now where have I seen that before?" feeling while also presenting you with something new and fresh. Case in point? This 2013 El Cabilo model.
This El Cabilo feels like a mashup of a late 50s LP Junior and an Epiphone Crestwood - a very cool combo to be sure. Fat Jr-like neck carve (yet still very comfortable), Arcane/Echopark pickups, mahogany body/neck, and a lightening bolt style wrap bridge.
It's extremely resonant and feels great in your hands. Plugged in it sounds phenomenal. Gorgeous midrange bite mixed with fat neck pickup tones. If you're the type that loves to live on the neck pickup, you'll be in heaven.
There is a made by hand quality to these guitars that we find very appealing. Part of the magic of these guitars is that you can tell a human put them together. That's precisely why they feel as great as they do!
Again, the word of the day with Gabriel's guitars is vibe. They just make you want to plug in, crank your amp, and run through every rock riff you can think of. That's really the point at the end of the day, no?
