This extremely well-made "Spartan" from Oregon-based luthier, Brooks Masten, has impressed everyone who's picked it up. Eminently playable, with a gorgeous, austere aesthetic, it's got a full, woody sound, that's well suited to ensemble melody playing and vocal backup. If you're looking for an open-back banjo with a mellow voice and the power to project, this one deserves serious consideration.
Condition: excellent. When this banjo was traded in, its original hide head had ripped. We've replaced it with a salt-processed hide head from John Balch and set it up in our shop. There are no significant cosmetic blemishes or fret wear; and the banjo needs no other work at this time. Priced with hardshell case.
