Michael Tuttle's background includes stints with Valley Arts and Don Grosh Guitars, where, among other things, he gained a reputation for his fretwork. As a guitar player for the last 30 years, the transition from a professional musician to guitar builder has been a valuable asset to his company, which was founded in 2003.
The Tuttle Classic S sits comfortably alongside other contemporary Super Strats from builders like Grosh, Suhr, Anderson, etc...Meaning, the Classic S is a modern leaning take on a Stratocaster with features that modern players will appreciate - some of the best fretwork in the business (stainless), an incredibly comfortable slightly chunky, oil-finished maple neck w/22 frets, locking tuners, 12" radius, Tuttle bridge and pickups.
Tonally, this guitar sounds remarkable. It's a stout feeling guitar which yields a ton of sustain and punchiness which pairs beautifully with Michael's humbucker and single coils. The humbucker sounds remarkably like a Telecaster in a lot of ways - it's quite twangy like a Tele yet has a fatter, fuller midrange. The single coils offer great Strat "cluck" and clarity...it's a versatile guitar to be sure and one that will easily become someone's favorite HSS Strat.
Condition: Like new. This is a lightly relic'd guitar so the only wear present is from Michael's shop. The frets are perfect and the setup is spot on.
