Description
Taylor brings another big change to its 800 series guitars! The body shape and essence have remained the same, and they've combined a Lutz spruce top (a hybrid that blends the qualities of Sitka with the punch of Adirondack) with Indian rosewood back and sides for a classic tone wood pairing. But with this edition, they've added two new innovative design features: their V-class bracing for added resonance and sustain, and most notably, a soundport cutaway. From Taylor: "Crafted to resemble a partial Florentine cutaway, the design keeps the guitar’s full back intact while still allowing easy access to the high-register frets. The additional soundhole adds a truly new dimension of acoustic sound, creating a wide-angle sound that would fit as well in a classical orchestra as it would a rock band or a fingerstyle solo act."
The Grand Symphony body shape has been an incredibly popular option since it's introduction. Physically the GS is slightly bigger than the Grand Auditorium, which gives it a slight edge in volume and bass response and suits open chords a bit more readily. However, while in the act of playing it's hard to feel a difference between the two shapes as both are exceedingly comfortable. With Taylor's Expression System 2 electronics, you'll have a guitar that's ready for any gig. Priced with hardshell case.
This gently pre-owned model remains in excellent condition, with no significant signs of playwear or blemishing.
