Great, rich, trad voicing with the benefit of refined, modern playability—the best of both worlds!

It is hard to pull off a sweet, darker voicing and still retain a lively, chimey top end, but Chris Stanley's V-5 achieves just that. This is an impressive bluegrass mandolin that will appeal to traditionalists as well as newgrass / American roots players of all stripes. A 2004 build, it comes to us in very good condition, with only normal wear adding to the charm and contributing to what looks, and sounds, like a much, much older mandolin. The playability is excellent, the fingerboard having been radiused, the mandolin refretted with slightly larger fretwire, and the extension scooped. If you have been on the lookout for a great sounding f-style mandolin with more contemporary-leaning fingerboard and setup, this one is worth a look!
