Old Time meets Celtic meets Bach!
Why We Love This
The Ome Phoenix is a close cousin to their top-pf-the-line open back banjo, the Omega. With only the inlay patterns to separate them, the Phoenix offers a lot of the same tonal qualities. It features a beautifully flamed maple rim and neck, Ome's antiqued brass Tubaphone tonering, and matching antique hardware. It falls right in line with some of the best melodic openback banjos made today: highly responsive with a warm, metallic clarity. Responding to the lightest touch, It asks to be played with far less energy and aggression but delivers more than enough volume and presence. While clearly not your typical cluck-y Old Time sound., it will work in that setting with the right attack. But it definitely leans strongly in the melodic territory. Time to start working on your Bach for banjo arrangements!!
