This well-kept Gibson Custom Tal Farlow pays homage to the legendary jazz guitarist. Tal was known for his innovative playing style and distinctive technique, and this signature model guitar was designed to capture the essence of his playing.

The Gibson Custom Tal Farlow guitar was first introduced in 1997 as part of Gibson's Custom Shop line. It's a full-sized archtop jazz guitar with a unique and elegant design that features a 17" wide body, a pair of Gibson '57 Classic humbuckers, a 25 1/2" scale, 1 11/16" nut, maple top/back/sides & neck, and a rosewood fingerboard.

The Tal Farlow's long scale and maple top imparts a snappy attack to single note runs. We really loved the way the '57 Classics worked with these specs - it's an enticing combo that yields fat, warm, and lively tones that might entice some players to leave their L5's at home. At the the very least, it's a really inspiring alternative to a spruce topped archtop.
