Considered one of the flagship electrics since its introduction in 1957, the Rickenbacker 381 shows off one of their more dramatically carved body styles coupled with beautiful woods to give it a presentation-grade look.
Beautiful Rickenbacker 381/V69 in original Mapleglo finish just into the shop!
The 381 model has long been considered one of the top-of-the-line offerings to have ever been offered by Rickenbacker. With deep and dramatic German-carve Birdseye Maple on both the top and the back along with checkered binding, it is one of the more captivating looking semi-hollows of their historic lineup.
This one has remained entirely original throughout, with a great sounding pair of "Toaster" pickups that deliver on the classic Ric tonality. A medium carve C/D neck with a medium-taper feels quite comfortable in any position as well. The original vintage-style frets are in great shape.
This guitar was completed in April of 1989 and delivered directly to the consignor, who has had it in their possession until it came into our shop. The guitar has been wonderfully maintained, and is remarkably clean with the exception of some unfortunate finish damage on the lower bout and rim of the body due to guitar stand material reaction.
Priced with the original black hardshell case and all original paperwork.
