The Postmodern Stratocaster from Fender's Custom Shop is all about combining old-school Fender vibe with more modern refinements.
Featuring a two-piece select ash body with contoured neck heel and deep ’57 contours, a rift-sawn maple neck featuring a '60s Oval C profile (.79"-.93"), a compound-radius (9.5”-12”) round-lam rosewood fingerboard, and 21 narrow tall (6105) frets, it embodies everything we love about a great Strat - a loud, open, resonant acoustic voice, lightweight/balanced, slinky playing feel, and fantastic amplified tones. Speaking of which....
....this guitar features hand-would Poblano pickups with a reverse-wound/reverse-polarity middle pickup. As the name implies, these pickups deliver a slightly hotter, yet balanced, tone with sweet highs and punchy lows. We love how these slightly hotter pickups do a bit of the work for your right hand, allowing you to lay back a touch with your pick attack. Or, if you're the blues type, you can dig in and these pickups will drive the front end of your tube amp beautifully!
Other features include a five-way switch, three-ply parment/black/parchment pickguard, American Vintage tremolo, vintage-style staggered tuning machines, bone nut and no string tree (for better tuning stability).
