This Greg Fessler Masterbuilt ’68 Telecaster Thinline Relic blends Tele style with P-90 muscle in a lightweight, resonant build that feels like a Fender classic that never was.

Why Buy Pre-owned from us?

Every now and then, the Fender Custom Shop builds a guitar that makes you stop and think, “why didn’t Fender make this back in the day?” This Masterbuilt ’68 Telecaster Thinline Relic by Greg Fessler is one of those guitars. It’s part Tele, part LP Junior, all vibe and it plays and sounds as good as it looks.
At 6lbs 6oz, the semi-hollow alder body feels alive in your hands, resonant and responsive, with a thump and sustain that belies its featherweight build. The Candy Apple Red relic finish has that worn-in, stage-ready appeal, set off beautifully by the bold red tortoise pickguard.
The neck is classic Fessler: an unfinished quartersawn maple carve with a super easy-playing ’60s Oval “C” profile and a dark rosewood board. It’s the kind of neck that just disappears in your hand - slim enough to move quickly, full enough to dig into.
And then there are the Seymour Duncan P-90s. If you love the snarl, punch, and warmth of a great set of P90s, you’ll be right at home here. They’re dynamic, expressive, and let you cover a lot of ground, from articulate cleans to gritty, pushed-amp tones with ease. Fantastic stuff all around!
