The Fender Custom Shop Masterbuilt 50th Anniversary 1954 Reissue Stratocaster is one of the most faithfully recreated versions of the historic solid body electric to ever come through Fender.

Built by longtime Master Builder Dennis Galuszka, this ’54 Reissue Stratocaster captures the essence of Leo Fender’s first-year design with remarkable accuracy—from the soft-V neck shape and headstock carve to the body contours and even the period-correct plastics (including a serialized back plate).

It feels every bit like an early-spec Strat, with a fast, comfortable neck and an exceptionally resonant acoustic response. The pickups deliver that woody, chirpy character you'd expect, with just enough midrange snarl to hint at the Tele-style roots this model evolved from.

As with other Masterbuilt Fenders we've played, the fit, finish, and playability are top-tier. It’s lightweight and well-balanced at just 7 lbs 3 oz, and it’s been exceptionally well maintained over its nearly 20-year life—showing virtually no signs of wear.
