A modern mandolin maker's take on a classic! Based in New South Wales, Peter Coombe's A-style captures all of the open sustain and warmth of a 'teens Gibson oval-hole A, with a touch more focus, clarity, and very nice volume to the single notes. Coombe has made great use of native Australian woods—Tasmanian Blackwood back and sides (similar in color and sound to flamed koa) and a Queensland walnut neck and matching pickguard—paired with a responsive Engelmann spruce top. A wonderful choice for Celtic, old time and other acoustic roots styles.
Light fret wear, otherwise very good overall condition.
