An old-growth Sitka Spruce top is the newest option on a Collings Traditional guitar; and aside from its striking looks, it's got a sound that's not quite like anything that's come before it either. The fundamental note attack is noticeably warmer than we'd expect on a Collings; and while it doesn't quite provide the snap and zing of Red Spruce, it does seem to be stiffer and more powerful than the standard Sitka tops typically found on this model. This is a beautifully round-sounding and open version of a D2H Traditional, which would be well-suited to anyone considering the model who's in search of something unique.
