An outstanding sounding archtop, one of the very first Guild-label Benedetto archtops built under the Fender banner and under the close direction of Bob Benedetto himself.

Why We Love This

What we have here is the flagship model from one of the most important figures in modern jazz guitar lutherie, built during a period of collaboration with Guild under the Fender Custom Shop moniker. Built under Bob Benedetto's close guidance, judging from the serial number this may, indeed, be just the second Benedetto Fratello model to come out of Corona, CA.

Nearly twenty years on, it is a sonic testament to Bob's sonic and aesthetic vision. The sound is wonderfully full, snappy, with lovely sustain, and capable of a range of tones depending on the right hand approach; a very inspiring and capable archtop.

The Benedetto comes to us from its longtime owner, and remains in excellent overall condition, with just a few marks in the top, finish crazing lines in the fingerboard and binding.

Pre-Owned Instruments | Have Questions?
We take great care in accepting only the highest quality pre-owned instruments for resale in our shop, then carefully photograph and describe each instrument to ensure what you see on our site is exactly what you'll receive. Many of these instruments carry subtle signs of handling that can escape even the most discerning eye, so if you have questions about the condition of this instrument, we invite you to call us for an in-hand description. We're always happy to help!
