Our latest TME Vlog features staffer Dan King introducing the Collings I-35LC Vintage, a standout update to their beloved semi-hollow electric guitar. New for 2021, the I-35LC Vintage brings the same refined, vintage-inspired approach that Collings applied to their Traditional acoustic line.
With a new laminate formula, revoiced center block, aged finish, and upgraded ThroBak pickups, this model is built for tone and vibe.
But how does it sound? Let Duke Levine show you.

I prefer the new Vintage model. Has the right sort of mids, like a human voice .
Both sound great of course.
If they were amps, the Vintage is Tweed and Standard version is Blackface
I honestly can’t hear any difference. Its all in the hands (almost) (sorta of). In this case, very talented hands.
Tastefully melodic playing. The Vintage version seems to have more open voice, more air around the notes. The standard version sounded like it has more midrange drive and fuller bottom. Wonder how Duke felt as he played them?

Great playing!
