Will Fielding was a fine banjo builder and a gentle soul whose instruments embodied the serene, simple, back-to-the-woods lifestyle he led up in the mountains of Vermont. The Rooster was his flagship banjo. Will would use mostly indigenous tone woods for his craft, very often sourcing his materials from the fallen trees in the forests behind his home. There is very little adornment to this banjo, other than Will's trademark Rooster on the headstock, set in a field of curly hardwood. The sound is woody and clear, with the Little Wonder style brass tone ring providing a generous amount of "cluck" and clarity. A marvelous banjo in fine condition.
