Description
Fans of more modern leaning guitars will find lots to love about this gently used 2019 Suhr Standard Plus in a striking Bahama Blue. 22 stainless frets, 10-14" radius, a ridiculously comfy satin finished roasted maple neck, 2 post Gotoh 510 bridge, and a Suhr pickups HSS configuration (with a push/push coil tap).
One of the first things we noticed when sitting down for a session is the neck carve - an "Even C Slim" - which clocks in at .80-.88. While this sounds skinny, we found this carve to be ultra comfy with a chunkier feel than these numbers would have you think. It's not too far off from an early 60s Strat, actually. Carve aside, it's one of the easiest, smoothest playing necks you're likely to encounter - certainly a highlight on this guitar.
Plugged in, the Suhr pickups deliver a modern, muscular tone with a beautiful top end clarity and snap. You can really hear the bridge pickup's fatter, more agressive midrange which brings in some Gibson flavor to balance out the rounder, compressed Strat "cluck" and chime of the middle & neck pickups.
Condition: Near mint.
John Suhr's reputation for making flawless instruments is well established and a few minutes with this beauty will easily show new-comers to Suhr why. This is just a killer, modern Strat style guitar, period. Priced with Suhr gig bag, spec sheet, trem bar, and wrenches.
