Description
Like all of Michael Spalts guitars, this 'Rose T' resin top solidbody is way more than a design concept or "art guitar". The build quality is on par with anything we carry - that is to say, world-class. These are incredibly high-end guitars that just happen to have a very inventive approach to the top and overall aesthetic (found objects are suspended in a specially designed resin with the goal of yielding a unique, one-of-a-kind piece of art).
Once in hand, you'll notice how unexpectedly light and balanced the guitar is - 7lbs 1oz! The neck is a slightly chunky C shape (think Fender's 60s Oval C) and the satin finish (the back of the body is satin as well) feels awesome / broken-in. The setup is great - no fret wear to speak of - and overall the guitar plays very easily - very snappy, slinky, and resonant.
So how does it sound, you ask? Fantastic. The neck pickup delivers a glassy, SRV-like Strat tone, while the bridge pickup is on the slightly hotter side with a prominent midrange. Strat and LP tones are what this beauty is about - and - there's not a ton of knob turning / tinkering to make that happen either. Plugged straight into a '68 Princeton Reverb reissue, we were able to get some really inspiring, very useable tones with only a volume knob and 3-way switch to navigate.
Condition: Very good. There are indentations and minor dings, light worming,
We love Michael's guitars and the 'Rose T' is yet another reminder as to why - don't miss this unique guitar! Priced with hardshell case.
