This finely made "1923 Model" from luthier Daniel Slaman has just come into the shop for consignment. It's only the second Slaman guitar we've seen, but there's already a theme developing ~ incredible quality of craftsmanship. In this price point, you'd be hard pressed to find a purely acoustic, L5-style archtop, whose tone and vibe could compete with this guitar.
The overall condition of this guitar is a bit shy of what we'd call "very good." Calling it "fair" seems too harsh, since there are no cracks or structural concerns, but there is a very significant amount of play wear on the guitar's top. When a guitar with a thin varnish finish is played as much as this one has been played ... this sort of wear is inevitable. And while we think it looks great, this is not a guitar for anyone who has issues related to cleanliness of condition. The tone, as referenced above, is wonderful, exhibiting the broken-in dryness and clarity of a decades-old instrument. Priced with hardshell case.
