This Schoenberg 00 has somewhat of a connection to TME: it was made during the final stage of former TME partial owner Eric Schoenberg's tenure in Massachusetts, when instruments bearing his name were typically produced by Julius Borges. This guitar was still "in the white" when Eric moved to Northern California, where it was finished by luthier, Bruce Sexauer. It's very lightly built, and super-responsive, as you'd expect from something made in the style of a late 1920's Martin. The 00 body size and standard Martin scale give this guitar a unique power for its size ~ couple that with its sweetness of voice and woody tone, and you've got an amazingly versatile little guitar that's unlike anything else in the shop.
This guitar remains in very good condition, though it's been played and bears the expected signs of use. The top shows minor fingernail wear and pick marks near the treble side edge of the soundhole (as well as a few minor random top dings). The setup is excellent, with low action courtesy of a recent PLEK treatment at TJ Thompson's shop. The original Grover tuners have been upgraded to Waverly. Price includes TME-branded Calton case, which has been gigged and shows minor wear associated with regular use. On consignment; shipping calculated at checkout.
