This highly customized Santa Cruz OM, made from Quilted Sapele and Adirondack Spruce, has just come back to us on trade. Superficially, this is an OM-18 inspired guitar with a bit of modern flare; but the superficial analysis will likely end after strum number one. The first thing you'll notice is just how light and responsive this guitar is (OK, maybe there is more than a superficial similarity to a great OM-18). The sound is very rich, with the golden, singing trebles of a well-broken in mahogany guitar. It's articulate without being harsh, woody without being unclear, and punchy without lacking sparkle.
