Kevin Ryan's 10-string guitars are a welcome innovation in a somewhat neglected niche. Offering the fullness and shimmer of a traditional 12-string, Ryan's 10-string model is built with a single (i.e. not coursed) B and high E string, allowing for a mix of strumming and single-note soloing on the treble strings. The The G-string course ins inverted from its conventional orientation, allowing for more shimmer and high-end articulation when fingerpicked (when you hit that string with an upstroke, you'll hit the higher note first). This 10-string is constructed on the "Paradiso" body platform, which provides a great balance when played full-throttle. If you've been searching for a 12-string, but struggle with the playability of most conventional models, consider this attractive alternative. Priced with Calton Case.
