To be blunt, this Combinata XVII is just flat-out cool, period. It looks amazing, balances perfectly, and sounds and plays like a guitar that's easily three times as expensive. Visually, it conjures up Rickenbacker-meets-LP Special vibes and feels exactly like the combination of those two guitars in hand - loud and chimey when played acoustically, but agile, more rocking, and easy to play like a LP Special. Yes, that's a very cool thing.
Played clean or overdriven - especially through a Class A amp - this guitar simply sounds fantastic. There's a great, very useable range in the volume and tone controls, allowing you to roll back either to control the amount of breakup you want from your amp. The Les Trem II w/roller saddle bridge is a nice alternative to the oft-used Bigsby and works really well.
Condition: Excellent. Customer removed trem and replaced it with a stoptail - trem is included in sale. Very, very faint fret wear.
Rivolta guitars have managed to produce an incredibly well-made, killer looking, resonant and soulful guitar at a very reasonable price point. We're super impressed by these guitars - check them out!
