Description
Luthier Don Macrostie has a well-earned reputation for making some of the world's best (and oldest-sounding) mandolins. We jumped at the chance to host this Red Diamond A model, built in 2000 and looking perfectly played-in. Macrostie tells us he used a very flexible back, with a low-arched Red Spruce top, when building this instrument; and the result is a fantastic balance of warmth, punch and the bell-like sounds his instruments are known for. Overall condition is excellent, though bear in mind this is a 20-year mandolin that's been played, so you're likely to see signs of that upon close examination. Have a listen to our own Jordan Santiago playing it in the video accompanying this listing! Priced with hard case.
