Luthier Don Macrostie has a well-earned reputation for making some of the world's best (and oldest-sounding) mandolins. We jumped at the chance to host this Red Diamond A model, built in 2000 and looking perfectly played-in. Macrostie tells us he used a very flexible back, with a low-arched Red Spruce top, when building this instrument; and the result is a fantastic balance of warmth, punch and the bell-like sounds his instruments are known for. Overall condition is excellent, though bear in mind this is a 20-year mandolin that's been played, so you're likely to see signs of that upon close examination. Have a listen to our own Jordan Santiago playing it in the video accompanying this listing! Priced with hard case.
For the benefit of our customers and staff, our showroom is available at 25% capacity for the time being. Walk-ins are welcome for accessory purchases, but appointments are required for instrument shopping.
