Description
Early PRS guitars have quickly risen through the ranks of the guitar world as some of most desirable solidbody electrics out there. The combination of beautiful woods, exquisite craftsmanship, and forward-thinking design are what catapulted Paul’s early works into what many consider to be one of the most revered and successful guitar brands in the last half century. These guitars have been consistently growing in collectability over the years, and for good reason.
Here we have a killer example of the Custom 24 Model. Finished in Scarlett Red (think a slightly richer/deeper heritage cherry), the flamed maple top provides the perfect backdrop for the now infamous “birds” inlaid brazilian rosewood fingerboard. Slim mahogany body and a slim carve mahogany neck feel super comfortable against the body and in the hand. The master volume, sweet switch, and 5-way rotary control offer up some seriously versatile tonal combinations with the original humbuckers.
The guitar is in great shape for a 30+ year old instrument. Minor surface scratches and some very small nicks here and there but nothing glaring or substantial. The frets have been leveled and dressed for smooth playability with a nice low action. The original bridge saddles have been replaced with modern Graphtech saddles, but the originals are included in the original hardshell case.
