Rarely has a boutique acoustic guitar builder had his work so inextricably linked with an artist as James Olson has: his instruments have all but become synonymous with another well-known (Sweet Baby) James, and have set the benchmark for that warm & syrupy sound linked with a generation of balladeers. We've had several Olson guitars in the shop over the years, but this one may be the closest to an actual JT model (in terms of construction, it's more or less identical). This is also the first Olson that's made us sit up and think, "Wow, what a sound!" Cedar over Brazilian Rosewood yields a warm, lush tone that sits gorgeously behind a vocal; and this guitar is effortlessly responsive & easy to play. It lends itself perfectly to any manner of fingerpicked acoustic guitar playing; and it also offers an incredibly deep, blossoming note attack for a flatpicker with a delicate touch.
Condition: simply put, excellent. There's a small finish dimple on the top (treble side, upper bout), but it's virtually impossible to see unless refracted light is shone across it. Other that that, all the surfaces are clean (as are the frets and fingerboard). The guitar has been freshly setup in our shop, and requires no work at this time. Priced with a Hoffee case. On consignment; payment requested by check or wire transfer.
