If you've ever thought, "I want the Authentic sound, but I don't want the Authentic neck," this is the guitar for you.
Why We Love This
This Martin Custom Shop style-42 dreadnought features full Authentic build features with a neck profile tailored to a contemporary player. If you've ever thought, "I want the Authentic sound, but I don't want the Authentic neck," this is the guitar for you. Under the hood, this guitar is constructed with Authentic bracing and full hide glue throughout. The finish is Martin's Authentic-style, super-thin lacquer, buffed to 'Vintage Gloss' luster (the pickguard is under the finish). The neck is a Modified V, with 1930's style heel ~ if you're familiar with the old Marquis and Golden Era lines, this neck would feel very familiar to you. We've also opted for the inclusion of an adjustable truss rod.
We used Guatemalan Rosewood that Martin had been holding aside for us for quite some time to build this guitar. It's as straight grained as it gets, befitting the classy guitar this turned out to be. As you'd imagine, the sound leaves nothing to be desired. Huge horsepower and low end thump, punchy, fat mids, and those round, shimmery trebles we associate with a vintage guitar. Simply a killer sounding, supremely handsome dreadnought with gorgeous, traditional style-42 appointments. Priced with Harptone hard case.
