This lovely sounding -- let's repeat that -- LOVELY sounding 1896 Martin 0-28 is a seductive guitar to play and a wonder of craftsmanship to behold. This guitar is all original, except for one bridge pin, and very playable for an instrument of its age. It has the original "orange top" unique for this year when Martin for a brief period used an unbleached shellac finish. There's signs of a previous center seam separation, but it's very tight and at this point, unrepaired. Overall, this is a gorgeous looking & sounding 125 year old guitar, with the woody depth of tone and response they simply aren't making any more. Priced with non-original hard case.
- Brazilian Rosewood back & sides
- Red Spruce top (original "orange" shellac finish)
- Ebony fingerboard & pyramid bridge
- 24 7/8" Scale length
- 2 3/18" String spacing
- 1 7/8" Nut width
