This 0-17 is amazingly full sounding and responsive, with the combination of dryness and articulation that makes these instruments sought after for fingerstyle blues and vocal accompaniment alike.
This excellent-sounding 1936 Martin 0-17 has just come into the shop! Small-bodied all-Mahogany guitars can be an excellent entry point into the vintage acoustic market: their price point compares to what many boutique builders command for replicas of the real thing, yet their sound is simply incomparable. This 0-17 is amazingly full sounding and responsive, with the combination of dryness and articulation that makes these instruments sought after for fingerstyle blues and vocal accompaniment alike. Its condition remains very clean for a 90-year old guitar. It's had a recent neck reset; the tuners have been replaced with modern Waverlies; and the nut has also been replaced with a new, bone substitute. All the work is very clean and solid. Price includes a contemporary, non-original hard case.
