On the hunt for your 'last' Strat-style guitar? Look no further.
We've made no secret of our love of Lentz guitars over the years. For us? These are desert island guitars. In the shop, there's a similar pattern that emerges when the topic turns to Lentz Guitars...and to be fair, when you encounter a Fender style guitar maker, it can be a challenge to give it your full attention because, well, there are a lot of Strat and Tele style guitars on the market - why should I care about this one vs that one? Sound familiar?
The pattern goes - you really should try a Lentz if you haven't, these are some of our favorite Fender style guitars. Humoring us, the player will sit down with it as we detect a little of the "oh great, another Strat" vibe (understandably). After a few minutes, especially when playing into amp, you can see the light bulb go off...they're hooked. We know, it's happened to us many times. A few of us have the Lentz bug so bad, the joke in the store is that we want alllll the Lentz. And it's true, we do.
Why? Feel and tone. Imagine a refined version of a Strat while still retaining the feel an older instrument, but with the muscle and power of, say, a Gibson. Glassy, chimey, articulate tones that really come alive with some gain or a pushed amp. It's like taking a sports car onto the highway and gunning it...the interaction between the guitar and the amp is remarkable. Even more remarkable? We've played dozens of Lentz guitars and they all have this quality, hence why they're among our favorite Fender style builds, period.
