It's no secret that early Ibanez electrics are some of the best guitars money can buy. This AR-100 Artist features all of the foundational aspects of Ibanez's double-cut solidbody - Mahogany body with Flamed Maple top and a 3-piece Maple neck, a great sounding pair of humbuckers, "harmonica" bridge, and 'cloud' tailpiece. The top is finished in Cherry Sunburst and the Mahogany body has a deeper Cherry stain.
Tonally, the original high output V2 humbuckers are authoritative and fat, with cutting upper midrange, clear top end and punchy presence (think DiMarzio Super Distortion). The slim C neck is right in line with the carve of the era - super fast with a lean taper all the way up to the sculpted neck heel transition to the body. The Medium Jumbo frets are in great shape with light wear, primarily in frets 1-6.
Overall condition is great, with some buckle rash on the back of the body and some light scratches and scuffs on the top. There's a finish chip on the top of the headstock, and some stable binding shrinkage on the lower bout. The hardware is also in great shape, with some light to moderate patina and wear on the gold plating. Currently set up with nice low action.
Priced with a very clean original hardshell case.
