This is one of the wildest Tomahawks we've had come through the shop!
It's a first for us in many ways - Sunflower Yellow finish, unique acrylic pickguard, and one of Connor's newer neck designs all combined to form one very cool guitar.
The new headstock design pulls in a few different influences to our eyes - from Kay to Koll, its more aggressive angular shape ties into the upper horns of the body quite nicely. An even more distinct feature of this neck build is the slightly wider nut width. Coming in at approximately 1.65", it pulls the neck feel in a slightly more modern Fender direction, adding just a bit of string spacing that still retains an ease of play we've come to appreciate in a High Spirit guitar.
This Tomahawk is loaded with Hot Dog pickups, Connor's take on a P90. These pickups have a nice fat low mid response with plenty of punch, and great complementary top end for some nice sizzle when overdriven.
The "beetle wing" custom acrylic guard is the cherry on top, adding some exciting contrast to the body finish. There's lots of depth and color in the pattern that's rather hypnotizing to look at. We love it!
With the popularity and demand of High Spirit guitars increasing over the last few years, it's been exciting to see Connor's growth as a builder come through in examples like this.
