We've been really excited about this one for a while now. In another one of our firsts from High Spirit, check out this 3-pickup Red Tail Hawk in Pearl Metallic!
If you're a fan of offset electric design, the Red Tail Hawk model has just the right amount of familiarity a la Jazzmaster/Jaguar, but with some of that Euro/Japanese import DNA inherent in a lot of what Connor's designs capture. Elevating the aesthetic with the Pearl Metallic finish, the contours of the Red Tail Hawk have even more dimension and depth. The color shifts from a brighter white pearl to a light silver, and even a pale champagne depending on the lighting. It's really a spectacular color in person.
In our first 3-pickup configuration, we went with a set of Danger Dog pickups that Connor calls his Fender-style wind. Nice low-medium output that combines elements of a great strat pickup with some of bigger bolder Jazzmaster pickup tone. We opted for a custom push button pickup selector array on the upper bass side of the pickguard, giving a nod to those catalogue electrics we love. Connor even made pearl buttons for the switches to match the pickup covers! This pickup selector setup allows for multiple combinations, and with no pickups engaged, you essentially have a mute function! Very cool!
Connor continues to elevate with each instrument that comes through. This Red Tail Hawk is a testament to his ability to explore new boundaries with his builds and maintain the quality feel, playability, and utter joy we experience when playing his guitars.
Priced with hardshell case.
**Note: The finish has a very small blemish on the rear treble side lower bout which is very difficult to photograph and/or detect.**
