Don Grosh is one of the premier builders working today, known primarily for his outstanding F-style guitars - but - every so often he and his small CO-based team will build limited runs of set neck style guitars.

While you can trace the Set Neck's DNA back to 50's-era Gibson guitars, they're actually totally different animals in hand. Tonally, the Fralin P90s deliver exactly what you'd expect from a great P90 set - rich, punchy midrange with great top end sparkle and taut low end.

Where you really notice the Set Neck taking a different path, so to speak, is in the exceptionally high build quality and refined overall feel and playability. And by that we mean, this is a very luxurious playing guitar with a fantastic '58 meets '59 carve. We've long praised Don's fretwork and to experience its sleek, fast feel on what is essentially a LP-style guitar is incredible.
