Grez Guitars founder, Barry Grzebik, set out to create a guitar that fits in the ES-335 world, but is lighter and has more depth of tone - somewhat between a great ES-335 and an archtop. The result? The award-winning Mendocino, now offered here in a new double-cut version. The results are spectacular.

This Brown Burst Mendocino DC boasts some unique features we've never seen on a Mendocino - Curtis Novak lipstick-style pickups w/tortoise "surrounds"; gorgeous custom tortoise knobs; a tortoise tailpiece overlay with the Grez logo artfully carved into it. Tortoise binding and a vintage-leaning Brown Burst round out the beautiful aesthetics.

Beyond being visually arresting, this Mendocino DC is really lightweight, balanced, and very alive and resonant. Simply put, this is the kind of instrument that makes you want to play more. It's beautifully made, has a chunky, late-50's Gibson-esq carve with a slinky overall feel, and sounds amazing both unplugged and plugged in.
