Grez Guitars' Mendocino Junior in its best-looking spec: TV Yellow, tortoise guard, two P90s, and pure trouble.

This color scheme - TV Yellow with a tortoise guard and matching knob tips - is, in our estimation, the one for this model. The first time we saw a pic of one online, the reaction was immediate. Had to order one. Everyone who's seen it in the shop has had the same reaction. Pretty clear sign that Barry at Grez Guitars hit on something here.

When a guitar is built around specs this straightforward, every component needs to be top-shelf for the whole thing to come together. No question that's the case here. Redwood body, Honduran mahogany neck, Wolfetone Meaner P90, Mojoaxe bridge. Each piece pulling its weight.

The result is a guitar that's chimey, muscular, open, articulate, and punchy. The chunky C carve is genuinely comfortable, and we think a wide swath of players are going to love it the moment they wrap a hand around it. Most importantly, it's just a blast to play. To cut to the chase, there's really nothing we don't like about it.
