Girouard's G5 Concert features top-shelf materials and appointments, in a modern, understated aesthetic. At first blush, there are hints of a Monteleone influence, particularly in the open scroll, quite a lovely, refreshingly contemporary look. Sonically, this mandolin packs a serious punch. The low end is big and expansive, the highs quite silken. Coupled with Max's impeccable setup work, the result is a fabulously fun and deeply satisfying playing experience.
