With no detail spared, Gil Yaron created one of the very best LP replicas to date.
We're thrilled to offer up this amazing Gil Yaron '57 Goldtop Replica for sale! Just in on consignment, it's one of Gil's earlier builds that showcases his unwavering dedication to create the most authentic sounding, playing, looking, and feeling LP that wasn't built in Kalamazoo in the 1950s.
The combination of old growth tonewoods, period-correct construction methods, and meticulously handwound PAF-style pickups bring forth a tonality and a dynamic response we most often associate with the best of the Golden Era Gibsons.
This '57 spec replica highlights the archetypal humbucker Goldtop, with cream-colored plastics and a light-stained Mahogany back. Gil's artistry is on display here, nailing the hues and natural aging that occurs with the lacquer on the originals. There's various nicks, dings, and scuffs throughout, all simulating decades of play and handling wear.
The humbuckers are incredibly well-voiced, with a particular sonic imprint reminiscent of the early PAF pickups. It's another instance where the meal is only as good as the chef that prepares it - Gil's got an ear for dialing these in with exacting precision. It certainly doesn't hurt that he's got them running through vintage bumblebee tone capacitors as well!
Even at 10+ years old, it's hard to imagine a modern-day build being an improvement over this guitar. This is about as good as it gets!
Priced with brown Gibson/Lifton hardshell case.
