'Black Beauty' aesthetics are hard to deny when it comes to the classic Les Paul Custom look.

What To Know

1978 Gibson Les Paul Custom in original Black/Ebony finish just in! This guitar came in from the brother of the original owner who purchased it either new or close to new by his accounts. It's a very clean example with untouched original electronics and all original hardware throughout.

The neck carve is a period Slim C with a moderate taper, starting out slim and fast and transitioning into more of a late 50s carve near the 12th fret. The original frets are on the lower side but they cleaned up quite nicely here at the shop and play great! There's some natural finish wear on the treble side edge of the neck where it meets the fingerboard, but that too does not affect playability.

No breaks, cracks, or repairs to be found, and about as representative of a late 70s LP Custom as you'll see, all wrapped up in the very desirable 'Black Beauty' package.
