Description
This 2003 Gibson Johnny A Signature model is a prime example of a great, modern Gibson. What initially grabs you is the look - familiar, yet a little different. Upon further inspection you notice some really nice, subtle details: the multi-ply binding, the neck carve feels like a great blend of a 50s / 60s ES-335, the body is a bit like a Trini Lopez-meets-SG, while the semi-hollow construction brings in a strong ES-335 vibe tonally. These specs all add up to a very playable instrument that feels a bit like a vintage guitar.
The tones are what you'd expect for this type of construction and wood combination - punchy, warm, articulate...like a great ES-335, this is a very versatile guitar.
Condition: Excellent. Aside from some tarnishing on the gold hardware (very common w/gold hardware) and some very minor surface marks (we really had to look for them to see them), this guitar is very clean - especially being from 2003. No fret wear, and the setup feels great.
An excellent buy for someone in the market for a great semi-hollow that's more comfortable to play and has a look all its own. Priced with the original hardshell case.
