This 1967 Gibson Hummingbird was recently acquired from its local, original owner. After an enthusiastic beginning to his guitar-playing life, said owner let this Hummingbird sit dormant for many years when life gets in the way as it often does. The consequences of that dormancy were twofold: the guitar's original bridge, and pieces of its original binding, cracked due to dryness, but the overall condition of the guitar's structure is beautifully preserved. Our shop has performed the necessary repairs, and the instrument is playing beautifully once again -- and sounding wonderful! Anyone interested in a prototypical sounding Gibson strumming guitar would do well to pounce on this one -- it's got pedigree, tone, and looks any vintage guitar geek would drool over. (And now that we think of it, a third consequence of all those years spent in a case is the gorgeous, unfaded cherry sunburst you see in our photos.) Condition: as mentioned, this Hummingbird is beautifully preserved for its age, with only the expected signs of lacquer crazing on its body. The original bridge has been replaced with a period correct, adjustable saddle substitute. Several sections of the body's original binding have also been replaced in our shop. Other than that? This guitar is as it was in 1968 or so. Price includes the case purchased by the guitar's original owner. Expedited shipping only at online checkout -- please contact us for ground shipping options and an in-hand description!
