1980 Gibson ES-347TD in beautiful and original Sunburst finish just in on consignment! Gibson introduced this model in the late 70s, combining foundational elements of the ES-335 with a fancier, more appointed aesthetic akin to the ES-345 and ES-355 models.
The combination of laminated Maple body, Maple center block, and 3-piece Maple neck with Ebony fingerboard offers up a bright and punchy voice, and coupled with the original Series 7 humbuckers deliver a healthy amount of output. A dedicated coil tap switch on the treble side horn splits the humbuckers for some single coil action - great for some leaner funk or R&B tones!
This guitar features all of its original hardware, including the TP-6 Stop Tailpiece for fine tuning adjustability. All of the gold plating remains mostly intact with some light oxidation and corrosion. The plastics are original as well, including the "speed" knobs and pickguard.
The neck profile has a very comfortable slim to medium C/D carve. Playability is great, and while the original frets do exhibit some wear, they play very cleanly.
Condition: Very Good+. Some minor to moderate finish wear on the back of the neck and some finish wear on the bass side horn and forearm area. Various light scratches, scuffs, and pick wear.
For a borderline vintage Gibson, these ES-347s are a tremendous value in a semi-hollow electric, and nice original examples like this don't pop up very often.
